7 Celebs Who Rock Orange Lipstick Right

Scared of this spring's sunniest lip look? Take a cue from these stars—and copy the exact shades they're wearing!

Orange lips have become a huge trend for spring and summer, and this year, they're showing up on both runways and red carpets. Designers like Prabal Gurung, DKNY and DSquared² showcased this vibrant pop of colour in their shows, and now, after some experimentation—and seeing the look on my favourite celebs—I'm definitely on board with this trend!

From bright corals to red-infused oranges, there are many ways to add a punch of citrus. If you've been a little reluctant to try this look, here are seven celebs to inspire you, along with the exact shades they're wearing (you're welcome).

1. Lauren Conrad in Lime Crime and Beautycounter

From The Styling Edit Archives

The always beautiful Lauren Conrad went for a matchy-matchy look when she wore an orange shirt along with a bright coral lip at this Malibu event. Not as bold as the runways, but a great, wearable shade for daytime. To create LC's coral shade, her makeup artist, Amy Nadine, used Lime Crime Velvetine Lip Stain in Suedeberry and topped it off with Beautycounter Lip Shine.

2. Kate Bosworth in MAC

There's just something about Kate Bosworth that is so effortless, and she makes wearing the orange lip trend just that. She chose a bright, red-based orange in this look, opting for a MAC classic, Lady Danger. The rest of her makeup was kept quite minimal to keep the focus on this statement lip. I'm seriously in love with this look!

3. Shailene Woodley in Tarte

With one blockbuster down and another one set to come out in June, Shailene Woodley is at the top of her acting game, and this orange lip proves she's got what it takes. Playing up her eyes with a heavier lined top lash, Shailene went for a complimentary orange-toned red lip, using Tarte Glamazon Pure Performance 12-Hour Lipstick in Fierce. This is a great shade if you're comfortable with reds but want to dip your toes (er, mouth) into the orange spectrum.

4. Camilla Belle in Illamasqua

Bold brows and bold lips? I'm kinda loving this! The key to making them both work together is balancing out the face with enough colour on the cheeks and definition on the eyes. This could have easily gone south if she had gone crazy on the eye makeup, but big lashes and a subtly defined bottom lash line work perfectly alongside her apricot cheeks. Camilla looks gorgeous wearing Illamasqua Lipstick in Flare.

5. Hannah Simone in Urban Decay

Hannah Simone is hilarious—and can pull off an orange lip, no problem! Her skin is flawless, her lashes fluttery and her lips perfectly bright. She's sporting Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Bang with the matching Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Bang as well.

6. Lupita Nyong'o in Tom Ford

And the love fest for Lupita continues. She's fearless and rocks whatever makeup look she pleases. I think it's that confidence that makes this orange lip look especially good on her. Here, she is wearing Tom Ford Lip Color in Wild Ginger.

7. Hilary Duff in Chanel and MAC

This takes me back to my childhood love for Lizzie McGuire, but with the orange lip, Lizzie is all grown up. Hilary makes it cool and laid-back with huge, defined lashes and a slight contour that sculpts her face flawlessly. She is wearing the quintessential orange, MAC Morange, over Chanel's Precision Lip Definer in Orange Intense.

The Bottom Line

Moral of the story? Don't shy away from orange, because there's one for every mood and skin tone. I'll be the first to admit that I was a bit apprehensive about going all the way with this trend, but it really boosts my mood and confidence in a way other shades haven't done in the past. Now that you've got some celebrity inspiration, I'd love to share my top orange lip picks for this season with you! Look out for my favourites in my next article!
